RE: Why Our Media Deal Isn't So Great... An Opinion
We just hosted MSU and Kentucky in the last couple years. We will schedule as we need to, and not how someone thinks Judy wants us to.
C-USA has not done much at all for us, so I don't think we owe anyone anything at the moment. We are in survival mode, so I suspect we will play several body bag games. And win a few of them.

Big 12, Pac 12, and ACC schools are willing to travel and do home-and-homes. Only a handful of B1G and SEC schools will travel to a G5.
Unfortunately, the P5's that travel well don't travel OOC at all except to neutral sites or other P5's

If the point of the thread was enhancing the value of the conference media package, then wouldn’t it be more appropriate for you to include home games played at neutral sites where the CUSA home team retains broadcast rights?
Our home game last year against Stanford, moved to a neutral site (Sydney, Australia) remained part of the CUSA package and was one of the games picked up by ESPN.

In our experience (and I’m sure several others like LATech) that is part of the negotiation of convincing certain schools to schedule road games with you.

Who called the deal "great"?

I think at best one could say, it's better than the last one.

With what's been announced I don't know how anyone could say this deal is better than the last deal. No ESPN partnership and Stadium is taking less games than the last deal.

Increased payouts, networks covering production costs for online distribution.

ESPN is a nice feather on the cap but in the two years ESPN carried CUSA football, only three games have been on the main ESPN network, not an offshoot such as ESPN News, ESPN2 or ESPN U. Those games which were carried by ESPN were due to competing against a P5 opponent to whom ESPN was catering to when setting dates and times.

Stadium is taking the same amount of games (15) as the original ASN deal, the only difference it's no longer has the option of selecting more games.

You are correct. neutral site games that count as C-USA home games should be included. I'm sure we would all prefer to play these OOC games at our home stadiums, but even so, money doesn't care about the location.
