Gregg wishes the best for Penny and assumes Penny had nothing to do with Tubby getting fired. Gregg went on to say that Penny was instrumental in getting Lomax to pick WSU........................

Gregg is amazed at what happened at UConn. He thinks Ollie also deserves every nickel in his contract. He said he felt bad watching UConn struggle. He knew something had to be done and went on to enumerate their national championships.

Sounds like Marshall understands the special relationship between Lomax and Penny. With that I'd expect Lomax will get his release soon. Unless, of course, Marshall is a heartless and cruel man

Lomax has requested and been granted a release from WSU. I’ll leave it to Memphis fans to make the celebration topic.

Didn't see this first. You beat me by a few minutes. Not as big a celebration as normal for me, b/c I sincerely don't like to see schools lose NLI signees, but we have been there, done that, as well.

This just was a unique situation that was inevitable, once Penny was actually hired.

I believe Gregg Marshall should mind his own business.

I think Marshall is a 100% class act in many ways.

In retrospect, Gregg's comments seem kind of strange the night before the press release on Lomax. I think they struck a deal of some sort. Penny owes Gregg big-time now.

No info on this but I wonder if Marshall made a deal with Lomax about releasing him from the NLI if Penny became coach.
