UConn will be the 1st to fall, once that happens the others will follow. It might take to waiting for most of the P5 GORs to end in 2023, but it will happen.

Come 2023 I don't think its going to be pretty for about 5 B12 teams as I think they get left out of the P5 party. They will probably take 5-7 schools from the American but just like the BE it won't be a P5 conference anymore.

100% agreed. Those teams are probably iowa state, kansas state, textech, baylor, tcu imo. I think okst gets out.

I don't know if the leftover Big XII teams will have clout enough to poach the AAC. The two would likely just merge.

They will. And may prefer some MWC teams or BYU to some from the AAC. Unless enough Big12 members are leaving to vote to just disband, the leftovers will have a considerable amount of money and be able to call the shots on who they want in their conference. Will the leftover AAC have that sway over us? I think that's more questionable.

Whats funny is that he put ULM in the "Texas Conference" but left Tech in the "Heartland Conference". Louisiana Tech might as well be in the state of Texas. Almost 100% of our out of state alumni live in the Lone Star State. With the exception of "Rivalry in Dixie" The Tech compass always points Westward.

Why is a AAC fan prostituting conference realignment for something they aren't a part of.

This is a waste of time. Also, a little to early for summertime alignment discussions. 03-lmfao

But that's an AAC fan for you.

RE: C-USA, what do you think of this realignment option?
I do not want to ever be stuck in another conference with:

Troy State Online College
The United States of America at Ladd Peebles
Northeastwest Louisiana University (now called Lafayette College, Louisiana Campus)
Or the ugly stripmall in Jonesboro
Coastal

They're strong Belt teams, but that's all they'll ever be, sorry folks. As far as Coastal goes, if we're going to add another state Georgia makes way more sense.

Give me UAB over those other Alabama schools
Would rather not be in a conference stretching over the other side of the Mississippi (if I was FORCED to choose one it's Rice by a landslide -no contest)

Add GS, GSU and App to the C-USA East +UAB in 2021 and call it a day!

Also Tech. 1000% rather have tech and wku together than go back with the Cajuns, that's just my $.02

So all the G5 schools not included, like UCF, would just drop back to FCS I suppose?

From a C-USA perspective, what do you think of this idea?

Teaser of the conferences:
    Southeast
  • FIU
  • FAU
  • Georgia State
  • Georgia Southern
  • Troy
  • Coastal
  • Charlotte
  • USA
    Texas
  • UTEP
  • NMSU
  • UNT
  • Rice
  • UTSA
  • Texas State
  • Ark State
  • ULM
    Heartland
  • ULaLa
  • USM
  • UAB
  • WKU
  • MTSU
  • ODU
  • LA Tech
  • App State
    Northeast
  • JMU
  • Liberty
  • Marshall
  • Buffalo
  • UMass
  • Ohio
  • Akron
  • Kent State
    Midwest
  • CMU
  • WMU
  • EMU
  • NIU
  • Ball State
  • Toledo
  • BGSU
  • Miami (Ohio)

The "Heartland" all by itself is more competitive than the American as a whole...sign us up.

Imagine a potential schedule for Southern Miss...

vs. Marshall (OOC Rival #1)
@ NIU (OOC Rival #2)
vs. Miss State (OOC home-home Negotiated from Consortium)
@ ECU (OOC home-home Negotiated from Consortium)
7 conference games (4 away, 3 home against the above mentioned arrangement)

#1 seed in the consortium against, say, #4 Arkansas State
Champ game in Hattiesburg.

I can't imagine what sort of tv deal this whole thing would get, but I can see ESPN rolling into this. At only $1 million per year per team, that's $40 million altogether... make a 5 year deal that's $200 million. Chump change. AND you save money on regional travel, with local interest in games.

first swap appy for usa or preferably troy.
The state thing would never work. We would be better off with a tulane or one of the texas schools ooc

If we had to join a conference and AAC (where UCONN and Temple are) wasn't an option, then I'd be okay with this lineup if we could join as a football-only member.

I’m guessing it’s because Tech generally wants nothing to do with ULM?
