What's going to happen is the AAC is going to add Villanova to the East Div. and BYU to the West Div. for all sports. Future AAC expansion moves.
1. AAC adds Villanova and BYU for all sports. ( ASAP )
2. In 4 yrs. the AAC adds UMass and Colorado State.--all sports
3. When they are ready the AAC adds Army and the Air Force.
The AAC has to expand to stop the MWC image building.

The exact same reason UCONN wouldn't leave for the Big East is why Nova won't leave for AAC.
UCONN- flagship, public, big student body.
NOVA-urban, private/religious, small body.
AAC has enough small private schools with Tulane, Tulsa, SMU.
Potential additions should be BYU, VCU, UMASS, Colorado State, etc. Fanbases that are big enough to overcome years with middling on field success.

Go back to sorting vegetables in the produce section. You'll be more valuable there.

If UConn and Memphis comeback to life this league's 50% can matchup evenly with that 50% conference.
Cincinnati
Houston
Memphis
SMU
Tulsa
UConn
Wichita State
On second thought after further viewing the 100% league (AAC) membership more closely this conference can actually overtake the 50% league.
Now on the trash crappy tv deal AAC currently has, yes I agree it really does stinks but it stinks b/c it was marked as a dead walking conference, going to evaporate in thin air in year two most talking heads were saying.
*50% = a league with basketball only and NO football.
*100% = a league with the two most important sports in FBS football and basketball.
Edge = AAC

Army would bring the NY market. We could always have the Army/Navy game earlier in the season, such as on Veterans Day Weekend.

RE: Villanova & BYU
Someone needs to break down this insane obsession this board has with BYU. I don't understand. Going west is stupid and BYU adds nothing. Even a school like Buffalo has more value than BYU.
Add VCU and Dayton (if Cincinnati doesn't block) immediately, add UMass and Old Dominion when football is ready to expand. Gonzaga, the more I think about it, doesn't work. When Few leaves, there's a good chance they become irrelevant.

Here is an "out there" school for BB only: FGCU.
Adds a market (Southwest Florida, a growing media market), they have commitment to their BB program, they are good in baseball, they have good fan support (the only thing down in Fort Myers, sports wise), .
I think they are worth a look at in the future, especially if the A-Sun keeps losing teams to other conferences....

I think there is a lot of teams that need a look before FGCU. I don't even think the A10 would consider them.

BYU is a well-balanced university that has good academics.
I think adding them for everything except football is perfectly fine. Their basketball team would bolster the middle 50% of the league and threaten for postseason play 60% of the time.
They also don't feel "low rent". I'm not sure how to describe that, though (LOL).

I want BYU - and their RPI ranging from 40-80 - on the conference schedule. It will give everyone a 2-3 spot bump in RPI.
Ideally speaking, Tulane needs to go from RPI #160 to RPI #80-90 (they were there at midseason) AND one of USF/ECU needs to enter the top 125ish. This would do more than adding another school.

I'm on board with adding UMass for all sports if it helps keep UConn happy. BYU only if they bring football as that would help our tv deal. Army for football only would be good for tv purposes.
