WKU’s fourth NIT game and its their fourth “power conference” opponent of the tournament. Utah likes to shoot the three (12 of 27 last game) but plays with a methodical pace. The WKU players seem to be fired up playing in NYC and MSG. Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

WKU opened as a 1 pt favorite and then line is now even. ESPN BPI gives WKU a 62% chance to win (but it gave USC something like an 80% chance to beat WKU so take that for what it’s worth)

I think WKU is playing with so much momentum right now that their athleticism and cohesiveness will outmatch anything Utah throws at them (unless Utah gets hot from three, which is very possible with this defense). I say the Tops win 82-73.

We just cannot let UTAH go bonkers from three, if we can do that I feel good about our chances in this first game....I watched UTAH play last two games and we have the quickness advantage plus their big man is playing with a bad back so take it to the rim every chance you get and out quick this team! Also fast pace style would really benefit us against this team as they are much more solid defensive team in half court then in transition...This is like Marshall's opposite brother, likes to shoot the three but way more methodical than Marshall....

If you are wearing red you should stick out in the millions of people walking around the city....both times we were there all we saw was black and gray colors. Going by the pictures of JJ it doesn't look like anythng has chanced. NY'ers love to wear blacks and dark gray colors


If we win tonight my son and I will be heading to NYC on Wednesday ...don't know it its better letting him drive or me with my eye problems.

I understand the NCAA tourney getting all the news but the disparity between it and the NIT is light years apart. Here in the Louisville market, rated the best college basketball market in the nation, no one has mentioned anything about the Toppers in the NIT, not a peep. ESPN does not have one story on their site even on the mens basketball home page.
Understandably WKU takes a backseat to UofL & UK in this area but you will here about WKU football and if they are in the NCAA basketball tourney but I have not heard one mention of the NIT. Tells me one thing, we need to get back to the NCAA tourney next season. Few care about the NIT, even in a basketball hotbed.

Year before last the NIT championship game pulled around 700k in viewers. A first round NCAA game on TRU TV pulls in 1.2 to 1.6 million viewers.


As a fan of a team playing in the NIT and making it to the F4...its great. For everyone else its...what, who, when, ok. OHHHHH thats good.


I read a post I believe on this board of someone comparing the NIT F4 to making the sweet 16 of the NCAA Tourney. No freaking way. I personally would rather make the NCAA Tourney and lose round 1 than play in the NIT.


With that....I hope Western brings home the championship and we will be leaving in the morning for a long 13 hour drive when Western wins tonight
