My guess is that he's referring the Valley not getting the benefit of multiple bids. Had the Shockers stayed and won the conference, Loyola may not have even been in this tournament.

On the flip side, the Shockers are a horrible conference tournament team, so my guess is the Shockers would have gotten an at-large (prob 10 seed) and Loyola would have been a 14 seed after losing a game or 2 against the Shox and winning the Valley tourney.

Temple is pretty comparable with Loyola in a lot of ways. Forgotten school in a major media market, tiny gym, low attendance numbers, Helter-Skelter program the last few years, 2 Final Fours.

Although, Temple hasn’t been to one since the 50’s.

When it comes down to wins and losses, the MVC and the AAC were pretty comparable this year. Better athletes in the AAC no doubt, but the MVC is filled with mid-major Cinderellas like Loyola.

I am happy that we stepped out of the way so Loyola could have a chance at their run.

There is a lot more parity in college basketball than anybody wants to admit. I think they really need to increase the size of the field - maybe another 10-15 schools or so.

Illinois State got screwed beyond belief. It might be the biggest snub in the history of snubs... maybe even worse than MSU's in 2006. Illinois State was a legit tourney team. They whipped our ass up in Normal last year. Mid-season injuries played a big factor.

WSU basketball is trending downward now that they are in the AAC, and they couldn't beat the Thundering Turd, embarrassed the conference in the NCAAs. Marshall has a better overall athletic program than WSU, so I guess it really shouldn't have been suprising. Hope WSU can do better next season.

Memphis has been embarrassing this conference since it's inception. WSU has done more for this league than Memphis has done. That's the sad thing. And your savior high school coach ain't gonna save it. The only difference is about 17,000 people get to watch you lose than the 4,000 the past few years.

Really, Memphis fans don't think much of WSU. Cincy, Houston, UConn yes but WSU? No. Like I said WSU is trending downward. Ohh and Memphis plays football. Went bowling the last few years. Played UCF for the conference title this last season in one of the most exciting games of the year.
