Leaving 200k on the table each year for a place that has absolutely zero fan support and will always be behind uconn in everything. A lot easier to make an sec team relevant than an aac team with zero fan support.

Seems to be a ongoing ncaa issue. They were turned down by 9 coaches.

Having said that I don't think Mississippi is a state I would particularly want to live in. In fact one of my least favorite. Apparently Michelle and I have something in common. Money isn't necessarily and end all in this case. Hope I haven't offended any Southern Miss fans. Wasn't meant to be personal.

Ole MISS is/will be/has been in NCAA trouble.Oxford stinks. She had coached at Cincy before and was happy.Doubled salary.Close to hometown Louisville and Kentucky ties.MISS State is HOT.

Seems like a good choice.Sorry to disagree with a fellow Hilltopper fan--but I'd have done the same thing.

They wound up hiring the coach from Jacksonville--the second or third best team in the Atlantic Sun.A large number of coaches turned down this job.

I have no idea what motivated MCH to turn down Ole Miss, then accept Cincinnati for less $$$. I’ve loved my time in Mississippi but let’s be real and admit there are people who do have a negative opinion of the place, regardless of the reason. And I’m not judging because a lot of those same people feel the same way about WVA or other places. Cincinnati is still paying her a lot more than WKU and the overall budget is bigger, too. And if she ever can get them to be good — a big If, to be sure — well, UC has proven it will turn out for good MBB. Who knows? Maybe they will for good WBB, too.

I remember when Cincy hired the Ragin Cajun coach. He didn't last very long there. RIP Coach J. Kelley Hall. He passed away of a heart attack at the age of 51 not long afterward.

9 coaches said no to be exact. I have spoken with someone who turned down a spot on the new coaches staff who said they have 3 issues that hurt that hire.
1 Vic Shaffer at state
2. continuing ncaa problems on the women's side
3. a Sr women's administrator who is a total ass - was told that Insell leaving was more him wanting out because of this person than anything else.
