Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad my Herd doesn’t have to face him. But this is sad that he probably feels he has no chance to make a NCAA tournament after they went 25-7. He will end up at P5 school. No doubt, it partly why they keep teams out. It devalues C-USA, MVC, A-10, MWC, etc and good players “move up” if possible. Imagine if they passed that rule they wanted about not having to sit out a year for a normal transfer. We would never keep any good players.

I feel (and I hope) that Jeff Jones' seat just got blazing hot (not just because of Porter's transfer, but because Jones in 6 years has recruited absolutely no one to replace him). ODU has never gone 8 years without an NCAA bid. Outside of getting some really good big men transfers, that's what we are looking at next year.

True. But save for 2015, we haven't been good enough to even get snubbed.

One good thing is our staff typically gets in on the grad transfers as well, so we won't be empty handed, but damn does this suck. Besides his 7 technical fouls and his **** attitude, I will miss him and wish him luck. But if our roster stands as is, we have no frontcourt, and I imagine we wouldn't finish in the top half of the conference. Looking forward to see who we land as a result. We now have 2 scholarships available for next season.

Randy Haynes announced his transfer last year. He ended up staying. Local news said a final decision hasn't been made.

Trey is likely gone but I'll cling onto any hope he returns until he announces a new team.

I wonder if fans put more emphasis on the tourney than players do? It could be just wanting to play at a higher profile school.

I'd say playing games on CUSA.tv and Facebook has something to do with it as well. Kids want to be seen.
