Question Baseball America Projected Field of 64
We're not halfway through the season, but here's Baseball America's tournament projections. This year's field is seeded 1-4 in each of the sixteen regionals.

#1 ECU Greenville, NC
#2 UCF Tallahassee, FL
#2 WSU Lubbock, TX
#3 Houston Raleigh, NC
UConn next four out

It would be great to get 5 or more teams in. Warren Nolan is predicting USF and UConn to finish national top 40 in RPI.

I was surprised to see Long Beach as a 4 and they are the only Big West team, that league must really be don this year.

Pretty good stuff so far as projections go. It'd be nice if we can pull together 2 hosts and 5 teams and get at least 2 teams to supers.

I'll be happy just making the field this year. We are a little inconsistent so far....actually, our offense is consistently inconsistent.

The AAC went 2-4 on Tuesday. Conference RPI dropped from 5 to 6. We are 0.0001 RPI points behind the Sun Belt for the love of Pete. The rest of the games this week are conference games, so it shouldn't affect our conference RPI. Except for UConn, who has 3 non-con games. So don't screw it up UConn. We're counting on you for at least 2/10000 of a point. Beat your patsies and then report back to conference play.

Okay, there's probably nothing UConn can actually do to help our RPI this week. They play Central Connecticut with a 225 RPI and Hartford with a 257. We can only hope the Sun Belt's opponents really stink. I've asked Rosie Perez to explain why UConn winning this week won't help our conference RPI.

We have good enough pitching to be able to put together weekend series wins but I agree that the lack of offense has my expectations reasonably low. That said our offense wasn't that great last year up until the last month, so who knows.

p.s. congrats on the mod position

Our record would be better if we weren't playing our first home game of the season today. Northern baseball woes...

Houston's RPI is 163 halfway through the season. What is Baseball America smoking?

If UC would have won every game decided by 2 runs or less, we'd be something like 19-3 right now.

If they don't take should-have-won records under consideration... they should.

Yep, they're doing sixteen #1 seeds this year. ECU is currently projected to finish with an RPI #3 and WSU #13.

Also, if you take these projections and a dollar to McDonald's, they will give you coffee. 03-wink
