That’s 2 years in a row. Any movement to remove Geno?

Tyler Summit is rested and ready.

UConn was cold shooting beyond the arc and ND's height gave them problems under the basket. But the mystery to me is why UConn didn't press all night like they did against South Carolina. Notre Dame certainly proved themselves vulnerable to turnovers when pressed. Besides a pressing team never gets into rhythm shooting if they don't press.

If Geno is such a great coach, why won’t he try the men’s game. He obviously is the top women’s coach.

Great game. I hope the ratings were good. Both games were incredibly entertaining, worthy of a big audience.

I heard it was the first time both semifinal games on the women's side went into overtime. I wonder if the men's side has ever had it before. Just was 2 incredible games.

Last year, "State" was the team that slayed the UConn Dragon in the semis, then had nothing left for the final and went down meekly to South Carolina.

Maybe this time it will be the Irish who have a come-down and State will benefit?

Yes. State also had an OT game vs L'ville in the semi; but dominated the OT. It should be very interesting. Emotion, energy, and coaching will be critical for both vs ND.

Fun fact:

Notre Dame has ended an opponent's winning streak of at least 30 games in football, mens' basketball, womens' basketball and womens' soccer.

That includes the longest winning streaks in the history of college football and mens' basketball.

Congrats to Muffet McGraw. She pointed out one heck of a stat. Notre Dame has lost more players to ACL injuries this season (4) than they've lost games (3).

Muffet had a wonderful game plan, but then she's always been a great coach. However I figured she won last night because of the shoes that looked like Dorothy's ruby slippers.

I wouldn't say they dominated. Both teams were clearly gassed, and the shooting was awful for most of the OT. State made a few when they counted, and they came through at the foul line.

These were clearly the four best teams in WBB on the court last night. The Men's FF will have a tough act to follow for drama.

The men's final four will be a huge hit if Sister Jean wins. But I doubt they get through another game. The semis has one good match up and depending upon winners the finals could be epic, or a snoozer.

Damn I'm old. I recall as a kid watching the 1974 men's basketball game on TV. I was rooting for UCLA, because i was a huge Bill Walton fan, he was my first hoops hero. One of the most epic games in college sports history.

Kind of funny, because even though UCLA won the national title the next year (1975), the program was never the same after that game. Before the loss to Notre Dame, UCLA had an aura of absolute invulnerability about them, like it was men playing boys. From that moment on, they were one of the boys again, albeit sometimes the best.

Mark my words: If Loyola somehow gets past Michigan, they will lose by at least 15 points to either Villanova or Kansas.

I recall as a kid watching Dick Lynch end Oklahoma's 47 game winning streak in football.
