wrong. This thread is an example of the opposite.
Yup. Its all bullschit and should be condemned as such. I’m glad someone put together that montage, and producers or managers or whomever should be embarrassed to show their faces. Representing that crap as “local news” or unique independent commentary.
It’s like copying off your classmates test paper. Do your own freaking work.
They should ALL be embarrassed. Hopefully this will put a stop to this.
Same as the MSM parroting the same cliches and “hot take” buzzwords they’ve been spoon fed by the DNC or the then losers campaign.

RE: Sinclair Broadcasting scripts for all of their local News stations
Someone seriously needs to explain to me what the big deal is.
Sinclair is a corporation that owns numerous news outlets. The corporation decided that as an organization they wanted to send out a message concerning the product that they are providing. It wasn't news, it wasn't an editorial about a topic....it's essentially a mission statement from Sinclair Broadcasting. So they decided to provide their employees with said message and instructed them to read it on air. Again....it wasn't news, it wasn't an editorial about a topic...it was the corporate mission statement.
The mission statement essentially says this:
One-sided, erroneous news stories are bad. (I think we can all agree on that)
Sharing of these one-sided news stories on social media is bad (again, I think we can all agree on this as well)
Members of the media use their platforms to push their agenda (Yet again...we all can agree on this)
Sinclair stations are going to pursue reporting that is facts based and neither left nor right. (Is this bad?)
As a media outlet their credibility relies on this (Again, I think we all agree on this)
They acknowledge that as humans mistakes will be made and ask that their viewers hold them accountable when they do make mistakes. (OMG THE HORROR!!! Accountability in the press! We can't have that!)
Why the outrage?
I know that when policy directives came from HQ I didn't have the option to pass them on to my crew the way I wanted. I was required to read the policy verbatim. This is a corporate policy and Sinclair wanted it presented the same way from Seattle to Brownsville, TX to Flint, MI to Columbia, SC and everywhere in between. One company, one policy, one message.

Sure, most of the MSM leans to the left. But if you're going to try and compare that to Sinclair and what they do, you're delusional.

Because they dare to not be a DNC mouthpiece like most of the MSM. WSJ was getting raked over the coals for basically following the rules of journalistic integrity that used to exist.

Agreed.
Sinclair didn't even take a political side in their scripted statement.
The MSM clearly takes a political side, has a far bigger reach and far more powerful, and has been doing this WAY longer than Sinclair. They are nothing but a propaganda machine of talking points and hacks for the dems.

I probably didn't look into it enough.
If this was a one off message sent down from Corporate and not a regular thing to start the evening news on these supposed "local" stations, then no big deal.
It was really nothing to do with the message itself, I took it to be something put together to illustrate what I thought could be a larger problem, canned news being spoon-fed to affiliates by whatever anonymous (to the viewer) source.
If that's not this, then yea, another fake OUTRAGE! Sure it was put together by that fraud Brrrrrocks!!! outfit.
RE: Sinclair Broadcasting scripts for all of their local News stations
The bias in favor of the Demons is so overwhelming that if I listen to LOCAL news it's just for that. I don't want to hear the Demoncraptic version of what's happening in the world. In their eyes the US is going down the tube but don't report that it's the best it's ever been. I mute the sound when they start preaching the Leftist propaganda. Hey, it's on them, it's their fault and they have no one to complain to except themselves if we don't want to hear it.
Even when they want to be fair they can't. They have to interject their biases with "but".

I'll grant you, this guy is funny. I saw his Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee appearance. He's good. But if you listen to him and Letterman and Colbert and Kimmal for your half-serious commentary on current events, it's no wonder you are as liberal as you seem to be. Because comedy has morphed into "it's funny to imply, intimate, and outright say how stupid people are whom don't agree with my world view."

Kimmel has never been smart about politics. Colbert was until Trump was elected and then went off the deep end. Oliver's show is well researched. Maybe he's not the best messenger but his points are well backed up.. its probably why he's already won a lawsuit or two against him.

Things like this from him and Maher are funny. I watch them to laugh at the stupidity of the right (yes, the left is stupid as well) and to get a base accounting of the actual issues to then do additional research on the matter.
"...Third, if you’re frightened by advertising efforts by local news anchors, wait until you see what’s happening with national cable news outlets and the country’s leading newspapers. Stop me if you’ve heard these before:
“The Most Trusted Name in News.”
“Facts First.”
“Democracy dies in darkness.”
“Real News. Real Honest Opinion.”
"The truth is more important now than ever....""
