As usual, Rasmussen is the only poll to give such a "rosy" number for Trump's approval rating. Every other recent poll has a disapproval figure of over 50%, with approval ranging from a low of 38% to a high of 45%.

Given the reckless manner in which he treats the office he holds, I imagine these will be considered a high water mark for his presidential favorability numbers by the time his term is over.

I don't like Trump, and probably never will. With that said, I think an important consideration is that we really don't have anything better on the other side (and there is no third party). The USA needs 3-4 parties to truly represent the full variety of American views.

Let's say we get rid of Trump. What's the alternative? There is nothing better than Trump - and it's really because anyone else who would do a better job is either not interested in the job OR is banned from running by people who hold the real power.

Agreed. No one has a consistent opposition message. Even the Libertarian party could have made some noise with a more organized message, but they have failed to maintain any momentum whatsoever. The Democrats are too busy dealing with flavor-of-the-month identity politics and gun control, which are dead on arrival with over half the country.

I don't see anyone I like, and I don't see anyone with a message I like.

Which polls were those? Are you talking about the election polls, the ones that were with the margin of error? Or are you talking about the ones I have questioned due to the methodology used in conducting the poll?

Nah, between now and 2025 I’ll bet we see more hills and valleys than this.
Once the historic tax cuts fully kick in, ima guess your President reaches into the low 50% across nearly all polls. Including the ones that continue to oversample the dims by 8-15 extra points.
