____________________________________________________________________

If you look at the Conferences' Average Per Team Totals you will see that the top 3 conferences all suffered significant declines in basketball valuation. The bottom two conferences saw modest gains.

Big 10 Average Team Valuation for 2016 was $115,734,143 / 2017 $103,007,143 for a difference of $12,727,000

ACC Average Team Valuation for 2016 was $88,976,134 / 2017 $76,060,000 for a difference of $12,916,134

SEC Average Team Valuation for 2016 was $82,734,500 / 2017 $71,035,714 for a difference of $11,698,786

Big 12 Average Team Valuation for 2016 was $62,853,500 / 2017 $65,550,000 for a difference of $2,696,500

PAC 12 Average Team Valuation for 2016 was $47,965,083 / 2017 $51,550,000 for a difference of $3,584,917

I would say that the total value for basketball dropped significantly year over year for 2016/17. The gains were marginal and by the conferences earning the least. Again this demonstrates just how much more valuable football is than basketball.

We'll see how football does against 2016 numbers when the WSJ issues those valuations.
