Gun Sales Soar, Set Record in March Amid Push for New Gun-Control Measures

Great job, Parkland activists!

Quote:Last month saw the most gun-related background checks run by the Federal Bureau of Investigation of any March on record, documents released by the agency on Tuesday show.

With 2,767,699 checks conducted by the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) in March 2018, the month beats the previous record of 2,523,265 set in March 2016 by 244,434 checks. That represents a 9.68 percent increase.

The March results put 2018 on pace to see more gun-related background checks than 2017, the second-best year on record, but still behind 2016, the best year on record.

The number of checks run through NICS in a month is considered one of the strongest indicators for how well gun sales are doing because each sale made by a federally licensed dealer, such as a gun store, is subject to a check. The state, however, is not an exact representation of gun sales due to a number of factors. For instance, the vast majority of states don’t require checks on the sale of used guns between private parties, some states use the checks in their process for issuing gun-carry permits, and sales of multiple guns during a single transaction by a dealer generally only requires a single background check.

lol...I thought about buying a AR-15 just because I figure they will stop selling them soon and it would be a nice FU to the anti gun folks. Idk---turns out they are kinda expensive for a "just for the hell of it" gun. Nice weapon if the zombies come---but otherwise it wont get much use from me. I'll probably just get the Glock 26 carry weapon Ive been eyeing instead.

People are seeing thru the BS. They KNOW the demmie's eventual goal is banning guns then going the confiscation route.

Hopefully this will show that some of us still value our freedoms and constitutional rights.

My wife and I went out and got our first pistol on Saturday. We don't have one for gun defense, and we figure the rhetoric is ramped up enough that it was necessary to go ahead and "pull the trigger." Bad pun alert!

We've been going to a range from time to time for quite a bit. I wouldn't call us "newbies," but we're certainly not marksmen. I think we're going to take some shooting classes of some sort.

Our local range provides eye and ear protection for no charge, but wearing public headphones does freak me out a little. We may end up with some heavy duty sound-proof headgear.

go to a local Stihl dealer or order online....

this is my go-to headset model....for ~40 bucks, it's solid in db reduction for many situations....

There are a lot of creative people out there. Even a little searching can find other ways they mimic devices.
