Guess he just misses the limelight and trying to get some on him again. He'll be pushing 80 by the next mayoral election. Most of his 'party' had grown weary of him years ago. Remember in 2010 he lost a congressional primary run to a white candidate 80% to 20% in a congressional district that's 64% black.

Willie Herenton is a complete opposite of MLK.

MLK looked to improve the lives of the racially and economically oppressed.

His go fer guy was forced out due child molestation accusations so Slick Willie did not end up making the killing he was expecting. So he has to come back and set things up another way.

I’m confused, what good thing happened for Memphis while he was in office? Drag the city through a $hi! Heap of corruption. Raise taxes every year. Annnex every near by city to boost tax revenue. Have the worst school system in the US.....where do I sign up?

x2 on this. Many are not in love with Strickland. Remember what downtown was like before Herenton? I do and it wasn't pretty.
