Ahem. We beat them 12 times in a row, then 14 out of 15. Then BSU won 12 in a row and quit playing us.

I wouldn't ordinarily correct stuff like this, but it's all I have left.

Honest question: when the Vandals had the hot streak, how many were when they were both 1AA?

Idaho was given at least a one year waiver by the Idaho Board of Education, so they don’t have to cut sports.

Idaho is a mess, their campus community has apparently little interest in their athletics. IRRC, they want the state to use funny accounting of athletic revenues to bail them out.

Didn’t they just join the Great North? Oh, never mind.

Idaho's booster organization will hold a vote of no confidence in Chuck Staben's leadership on the 27th. The fact that it's taken this long shows how checked out Idaho alumni in general are on athletics. Most have been basically lulled to sleep over the past 15 years. It's taken just an epic failure of planning, leadership, and salesmanship on Chuck Staben's part to make them start to wake up.

Staben has one more year on his contract and knows it won't be extended, and is looking for other jobs now. The problem is, who will hire him?

It's because alumni live far too far away from campus to ever attend games.

Location is most unfortunate. Changing the President is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

I'm not talking about attending games. I get all that. I'm talking about alumni giving enough of a crap to make noise when things are going wrong. Historically, Idaho has had very active and generous alumni, and that's still true apart from athletics.
