He means business. Not some liberal p.o.s. pansy President who drew red lines and never enforced them. What a joke Barry was as a leader.

You must have missed the memo. Your Supreme Leader has ordered you to hate Trump:

It's a red line he shouldn't have drawn. Kind of box yourself in when you say something stupid.

Sheeple really do believe this stuff. Putin knew about the retaliation the whole time. The sites were evacuated days ago. They were forewarned. Don’t be so naive.

The only thing in Syria worth shooting at is whatever building Assad happens to be in. If we are not willing to do that, then GTFO and stay TFO.

Agree. The last feel good missile attack Trump attempted slowed Assad down for a year. This one probably about the same. It's good optics and makes people on here feel all macho, but doesn't really do much of anything.

But, you know "Mission Accomplished !!"

Trump achieved two goals. One, he's shown Americans and the international community that there is a new regime in power and we aren't going to sit on our hands and hope everybody gets along and plays nice. The air strike was an incremental step of coalition forces to take out, incapacitate chemical weapons production sites that are banned by the international community. It sends a message not only to Assad but to Russia and Iran (probably Turkey too) that back Assad's regime that this won't be tolerated. Wasn't the left hyperventilating and sensationalizing that Trump was incapable of calculated, incremental military strategy? That he would jump to "push the button" and not listen to his military advisors?

Two, this is also about supporting our historical and strategic ally Israel that is increasingly feeling isolated in this region post nuke deal Iran. Say what you want, but from where I sit Barack Hussein told Israel to find its own way and abandoned them on so many fronts. It's getting so bad for stability's sake in this region that Saudi Arabia, SAUDI ARABIA, has recently called out Iran, Turkey and Islamic militant groups as the new "axis of evil." The United States has to have some military presence and deterrence in this region because the alternative is far worse.

So, yet another complete disaster/failed state?

Did we learn nothing from Hussein or Qaddafi?

I’d vote we leave the strong arm dictator tyrants in power, but neuter their asses to pull this crap on innocent civilians.

I’m certainly no fan of fat boy either, but we take him out, then what? 20 million people running into S Korea or China?

Containment. Do the best we can. Bide time and maybe, eventually, somewhere down the road the people of these schitholes take care of it themselves.

I don't think we are actually disagreeing. If it's not worth taking him out, then it's not with fighting. Put it another way. If in June of 1942 we had a shot at taking Hitler out, would we have taken it. You betcha. That's what you do when you are fighting to win. We fight wars not to hurt people's feelings. And that's hard to do when winning involves killing a bunch of them.

Syria is one that we should not fight to win because it's not worth winning. There is no outcome that advances any American interest. So contain it and bide time, and put our efforts into helping our allies in the region be as strong as possible.
