Pointing out a disingenuous post is "bagging" on someone?

Seems like you had a problem with him "humble Bragging" since you didn't know which one was worse.

Humble Brag...Your words...Clear as day you were running the guy down

What does that have to do with being disingenuous? Seems like you felt that was as bad as misrepresenting the facts (which he did not do)

Exactly right, Macgar. Coach Joe was trying to complement the kid, Myreon Jones, for rising to #81. And for the 5th time, Coach Joe needs to quit tweeting Memphis stuff.

But as always, Saluki has to prove how much smarter he is than everyone else, quoting a ranking that Coach Joe was not even referencing.

I don't think anyone has a personal issue with Joe. Most of us appreciate the hard work he put in while he was here. I guess we all see that tweet differently. I am with Saluki here. That in my opinion was a tweet directed at Memphis fans. The biggest knock these guys heard while they were here was that they weren't landing 150 recruits, they weren't working hard (Other than Joe) and so on. He isn't just self promoting. He is taking a jab at Memphis. No other reason to tweet it the way he did if he didn't.

Like someone said, it's just spin.....but Joe certainly takes some creative license with this quote from his tweet -

"Ranked by @247 the one everyone talks about....."

because the 247 COMPOSITE is the one everyone talks about

I can agree with this...

But read anyones resume and you will see tons of examples of people being a little creative with their wording.

Difference is you don't have a bunch of angry people looking over your shoulder to correct you.

Nope.

I'm 100% correct.

Fact.

Had he cooled his jets and just noted the 247 ranking without trying to go to 11, he would have been ok in that respect. BUT, by referencing the "the one everybody refers to"--which is the COMPOSITE ranking--(see sources in post above) he crossed from reality into fantasy.

It is that simple.

And as for chasing him around--I was one of the first people he followed when he came here. In fact he followed me before I ever followed him.

I responded with all of ONE retweet with him in a mention regarding this. That's all. So, if by "chasing him all around" is retweeting and quoting once, then, yes, I am guilty of being crazystalker.

If he were complimenting the kid he could have worded it differently.

Something like.

"So proud of Myreon Jones for working hard and moving up the rankings". The tweet was NOT focused on the kid. He mentioned the AAC and "would have been" mentions the rankings "Everyone is talking about". Says "interesting FACT". It was a jab at Memphis.

I can see how you would take it that way.

I see him as saying I committed the best player in the conference on the last job I was in.

If he was at UNC pulling the #81 player would mean very little as everyone would say anyone can get the #81 player at UNC...But when he compares it his previous schools peers (I know most are not our peers) it means more.

No, some of us are happy with our new staff. Miserable is the first thing some of you go to when you have nothing else to say. Look at his tweet from April 19th. That is complimenting the kid. The tweet we are referring to is a jab at Memphis.

Seems like you had a problem with him "humble Bragging" since you didn't know which one was worse.

Do I really chap your ass this badly? Seems the past few months you just gotta get at it.

I inferred from his tweet that he was pumping himself up while taking a jab at those who were dissatisfied with how recruiting went under the last staff.

His tweet was a twofold attempt to market himself and to do a little "ha-ha" at Memphis fans by TRYING to show that he recruited (what he CLAIMED) what would have been the highest rated player in the AAC had he not been let go.

Now, in order to make his claim, he cites 247 and then further buttresses his claim by referencing the rating as the gold standard--"the one everyone talks about" to lend credibility to the claim.

The major malfunction with that claim is that "the one everyone talks about" is the one that had Myreon at 167--well behind Antwann (100), Tyler (121), and Alex (142).

So, the WHOLE essence of the tweet is just straight up incorrect. So the question is, was Joe intentionally misleading or just that dumb? (now THAT would have been a mean tweet).
