If changing the turf from blue to green was a factor to get an invite into a power conference, then it would’ve been done by now

It will be to get into a p5 conference.
Really, does BSU really need to hang on to their FCS field? It sucks to watch on TV. It was different when TV wasn't as big of a factor, but now that field makes it really hard to watch on large screen TV's. BSU can get better ratings if they change it to green as more people will be able to watch the home games.

Unless there’s some dramatic shift to bringing in tons of non-power schools into the power fold, Boise St is not getting an invite. The remaining invites, if any, have school names written on them already: Cincinnati, Connecticut, Houston, Rice, Memphis, Central Florida, and South Florida probably comprise the entire list of schools under any remote consideration.

Even then, power contraction seems far more likely than power expansion. Only schools worthy of getting picked off in the ACC and XII are safe: Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Florida St, Clemson, North Carolina, North Carolina St, Duke, Virginia, and Virginia Tech with maybe Miami and Georgia Tech. Everyone else should be nervous.

All that to say is that while the field color change for Boise St may be a factor, there a million reasons why the invite is not coming.

Now if only Eastern Michigan can switch their field color; it looks like a darn black and white television when they play
