Hell I didn't take it to even mean the best player always wins....they don't. I'm sure there's states out there that a class 5 or 1 winner is better than the KY Mr Basketball. But it means something to be the only player in the state to win this award.

Going off the past it actually means something for Western. Western has made a sweet 16 during the 4 years we had a Ky Mr Basketball on the roster.

Edmonton County (small school) can have THE award winner just as Louisville Trinity (cheating, huge private school). Take it the way you want to Middle fan. We all know where high school basketball ranks in your state... way down on the list. The award has nothing to do with the NBA or college ability.
