No, but the CFP kind of treats it like one big conference, so it was useful shorthand here.

Actually, 5 is pretty good, and IIRC, the top G5 pick was #8, very high.

Yes, the Big 12 was shockingly weak, they had only 1 first round pick (albeit the overall #1) and zero from any of the Texas schools.

Nice round for the MW with 3 1st round picks! Don't think that has happened before for the MW or any non-power conference.

ND with two picks in the top ten of the first round. Not bad.

Doing this by school is much more telling than by conference; the conference thing means very little. The Alabamas, Ohio States and others in their echelon get most of the pro-like Jimmies and Joes. Then there are a few diamonds in the ruff now and again.

No, I did not count Notre Dame with the ACC, their two are listed as independent.

The ACC had six first round picks on its own, without including Notre Dame.

Mayfield (Oklahoma) going #1 over Allen of Wyoming (#7) softened the blow, but it’s still an interesting thing to see. Big 12 had a tough 1st round in the draft...
