RE: If a sunbelter says their conference is better...
I understand putting down another conference is important to some fans.....

I personally believe most years CUSA football is better than the SBC but having a few more players drafted doesn't prove that. I think most years CUSA has a stronger upper/middle than the SBC. While the SBC is stronger below that.

Yes but CUSA is top to bottom rapidly improving

Based on your logic, CUSA is light years behind AAC.

What if we stole Appalachian State and ULaLa? That would tighten our divisions some and add some strength.

Of course I have also proposed consuming the entire Sunbelt on this board. Just thinking out loud here.

I'd rather have App and Georgia Southern

If there were to be a realignment, it's probably gonna be geographically as opposed to creme de la creme...but let's take a look at both:

Geographically:

Marshall
ODU
Charlotte
App
WKU
MTSU

GSouthern
GState
Coastal
FAU
FIU
UAB

Best teams:

Marshall
ODU
MTSU
WKU
App
GSouthern

UAB
Troy
USM
LaTech
FAU
StAte

We are. They get multiple NCAA bids and have 2-4 teams ranked in top 25 every year since they started. We dont.

As the fan of a NFL team that spent their top two picks on players from UTSA and UCF, it’s been interesting to see some of the comments on the Saints message board. Both have been referred to as “small schools” with a “low level of competition.” And I’ve seen UTSA called a “d2 school” and a “sun belt school.” If you aren’t a fan of a G5 school, it really doesn’t matter. We’re all the same to everyone else.

That’s not including tv money and NYB games.

Either you don't know how to count, or you're making stuff up. We had more than 3 and were tied with the MAC for amount of draft picks. We also have less members than the MAC and CUSA, so what do you expect? On top of that, most Sun Belt teams had young rosters this past season with fewer seniors than previous years, so obviously a less likely chance for draft picks this year.

Really poor job of trying to talk smack.

We didn't have anyone drafted. Still take my team over any of the others around here. Sometimes not getting people drafted means all your real talent is still on the squad. Lookout.

Yeah, the author of this at USA Today can't count either. If you go and look at each round for yourself, we have 4... just as much as the MAC.

This. You want to know what schools have a good bit more players on NFL rosters than Marshall does?

Rice, FAU, Tulane, Harvard. I don't think anyone could consider any of those programs better than Marshall.

NMSU officially exited the Sun Belt on December 29th 2017. Technically they are an independent team now and that’s why all the publications will not give the Sun Belt credit for that pick.
