Radio Interview: The New AAC TV Contract Negotiation Team Has Been Selected
Does anyone have any insight as to when official negotiations begin or what the AAC priorities are in the new negotiations?

^^^^^^^Totally agree: get money up above $10 mil. and get a good bowl tie-in for Champ and/or Runner-up. My two priorities.

The minority here but exposure is the most important to me. You can sell recruits on exposure.

you cant eat exposure - we need cash and lots of it. we'll never catch up to the megas but we can sure separate ourselves even further from the others

Nothing new here, but some update should come out of the meetings this week.

ETA: Spring meetings are this week.

Supposedly, Memphis president, Dr Rudd, was interviewed somewhere recently stating this. Same post on the Memphis board with no quotes or links.

Radio Interview: Dr. Rudd Revealed He's on New TV Contract Negotiation Team

The old ECU AD was on the negotiating team--so maybe Rudd is the replacement. If I remember correctly, UH president Renu Khator is the head of that committee.

Is Aresco and ESPN looking to extend beyond 2019/20? Maybe that's the talk? Because it won't go to the open market until after 2018/19; I think.

LOL ... "Dr. Rudd merely stated that he was on the committee in the radio interview. I was just wondering if anyone had an additional information. Perhaps another member of the committee had a more detailed interview in another market. JS ... 07-coffee3 "

Yeah, he’s the one that leaked the range most often cited around here. He’s also mentioned the SMU Pres. several times. Should be some sound bites/ talking points from this week’s meetings.

Actions up to this point don’t point to automatically reupping with ESPN...though it could end up that way. Tv consultants have been on the payroll for years now and Aresco and co. have at the very least explored interest from streaming providers like Amazon. I don’t think negotiations with anyone have begun in earnest. I’m basing this off of comments from both Aresco and Rudd. Last hard date I recall is Feb.
