U San Francisco becomes 5th DI W Triathlon team, 23rd NCAA squad

A few months old, but USF added women’s triathlon. USA triathlon helps financially start up a team and they are more than halfway to their goal of 40 NCAA schools sponsoring it. Just another Title IX option.

I think a wide variety of options is a good thing. I would, however, like to see football not count towards the scholarship count for men. It takes up far too much and sports like soccer, lacrosse, and hockey (among others) suffer.

Why? It is still scholarships. It's still university resources. And for most schools, it is still the biggest money drain.
