- Fiesta/Peach Bowl - Should AAC be selected for this spot. Cotton is tied to CFP.
-Birmingham vs. SEC
-Military vs. ACC
-Armed Forces vs. Big 12
-Gasparilla vs. ACC
-Frisco vs. At Large (BYU? They don't have a tie in this year.)
-Bahamas vs. CUSA
-New Orleans vs. Sun Belt
-Cure vs. Sun Belt
-Backup deals with Independence and Liberty (which the AAC used last year) bowls.

Gasparilla Bowl this year looks to be AAC vs CUSA. I think the ACC is the back-up.

https://www.gasparillabowl.com/

Not according to the AAC website. However, who knows.

See page 11: http://sidearm.sites.s3.amazonaws.com/th...ase_0a.pdf

The Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl is played at Tropicana Field in St.
Petersburg, Florida. The American Athletic Conference will supply a team to the bowl
during each year of the six-year cycle. Conference USA will play in the game in 2015,
2017 and 2019, while the Atlantic Coast Conference provides the opposing team in
2014, 2016 and 2018.

I hope you are right...the bowl website might not be updated...we'll see. I'm going to volunteer to assist at the bowl this December.

Re: the Gasparilla Bowl. CUSA is also saying they are not a part of this bowl. That's now 2 conferences saying that CUSA is not the opponent, including BOTH conferences, according to some, who are a part of it. If CUSA was the opponent for AAC, why wouldn't they publish this among their bowls this year. And, the AAC is saying the ACC is the opponent. CUSA released their bowl lineup a few days ago and the Gasparilla Bowl was not on it.

https://twitter.com/ConferenceUSA/status...6871243778

It's pretty clear it's AAC vs. ACC this year.

This is so bizarre. Why does the actual bowl website show that its AAC vs CUSA?

It is bizzare. I guess we will find out for sure later. The AAC website from a few months ago show the ACC as the opponent. Now CUSA is also saying they are NOT the opponent for AAC. Heck, maybe it is still being worked out, swapped around with other bowls, who knows.

Hope you are correct BullsFan...Cuse very well could be 6-6 this year...and St Pete would be a nice game for Dino's Crew.

That’s wrong. It’s an at large bid opposite the AAC.

Some of these guys do very little homework on bowl tie in.

Nope..... it’s against the MAC. Probably against the champion. Also the MAC is in the Bahamas bowl against CUSA.

Well, then it changed, because the AAC website still shows it as at large (as it was last year).

But at this point, who the heck knows. We'll find out for sure when we find out.

Notice even on the Frisco Bowl website, only the AAC is listed as a conference.

https://thefriscobowl.com/the-bowl/about-the-bowl/

Here the AAC website does not list an opponent (pg 11). Every other bowl the AAC has lists an opponent.

http://sidearm.sites.s3.amazonaws.com/th...ase_0a.pdf

There are many articles all over the internet that says the AAC faces at large teams in Frisco.

I doubt it improves attendance that much. Most of the visiting fans will still be staying over by the beaches in St Pete.

A team from among the group of Tulane, SMU, Cincinnati, or UConn (should they get bowl eligible). I don't think you'll see UCF or USF in the Cure Bowl, unless one of them slip in standings more than expected. I think USF, UCF, Temple, Memphis, Houston, and Navy will be snapped up by bowls higher in the pecking order for AAC.

Of course I could be totally wrong.

I would LOVE to face Willie Fritz and his Tulane squad in the Cure Bowl. Talk about a chance for pay back.

If they do, it would elevate up the pecking order. The ACC would likely try to get a primary slot.
