Even with a new AD I still don't have high hopes for the Cougars. If the WAC could find 2-3 more schools with a pulse then Chicago St will be expelled.

The university isn't particularly safe, let alone the athletic program. They are still in a precarious situation.

They are obviously going to be around for awhile. They are hiring new leadership and they need to fix their enrollment issues. The state budget issues are behind them for now. They need to turn this around or show significant progress in the next 3-5 years.

The potential Presidents all happen to be African American women. Don't know what the significance of that is, if there is any significance at all. 2 of the 3 have extensive backgrounds in higher education administration. Just based on some face value, non-in depth reading from what I could glean on the 3, Heidi Anderson would be my choice.

It's all about getting the right people in place. I think Zorich is a good hire and will do as much as he possibly can within the budget restraints to lift the program. Also, as the article states, getting the correct President in place is basically tantamount to Chicago State's survival.

The budget constraints are the very thing that prevents them from fielding a competitive program. The WAC is the only conference that will have them and they can't afford the travel.
