really this just highlights the debate we've always had in the past. you followed drexel basketball because...well i don't really know why. i guess it's nice to have the ad stop by and say hi to you after the game from his suite area. it's hard for me to think of anything i'm less interested in than that.

i follow drexel basketball because i want to win. i'm not going to waste any more of my time trying to defend that.

sounds like the key to drexel building a fan base boils down to the ad saying hi to 2500 people a game !!!

If he did that, and people actually were open and honest with him, maybe he would actually start to realize that changes need to happen. Or maybe he wouldn't care whatsoever. At least it would make it appear as if he cares enough about basketball, which currently appears to be a struggle

Once again, lets examine the root-cause of the issue. A complacent culture that lacks ambition. Tolerating mediocrity is contagious.

so you're saying you're doubtful the ad will say hello to 2500 people per game?

Hand to God, when I mentioned that slogan to an athletics staffer, his reply was "That's a University slogan - not Athletics"

Tramaine Isabell just signed with Saint Louis.. I guess the A-10 is a better conference.. but he could have been CAA Player of the year. How much more prestige will he get with a one in Done St Louis team. I wish him luck but I don't think St Louis is a better School except for the Conference they are in.

RE: Good news everyone
Not to bump an old thread but its a bit relevant where this thread's direction had gone. After hiring Holgorsen away from WVU, President of Univiersity of Houston made the following remark. Maybe Fry and company should think about this again, Oo at least our athletic department should think about the ambition can't wait slogan.

"We've got to have an excellent athletics program, because that's what is an asset to the university. A mediocre program is not an asset, it's a liability. Our goal has always remained exactly the same...and that is we're building a nationally relevant program."

Even as an afterthought in the football realm as a non power 5 member, this is their view. Seems Drexel could certainly learn from them.
