That's the 3rd no-hitter or perfect game a Rice pitcher has been a part of since 2012 (Humber's perfect game and also Lucas Luetkge was part of a combined no-hitter as well). I'd have to think we lead all of college baseball programs in MLB no-hitters since 2012.

RE: Cingrani
Nice for Cingrani; he has had and will continue to have an excellent MLB career.
Man does Vanderbilt crank out the high-level pitchers (talking about the starter in the game, Walker Buehler).

That's absolutely correct. Great catch, FBO!
I went back through the MLB no-hit pitchers listed on Wikipedia, and their bios ... and even going back to 1998, there are still no colleges with three alums who have pitched a no-hitter.
Missouri alums have three no-no's, but two were by Max Scherzer (both in 2015) and one by David Cone (1999).
Tennessee Tech is the only other college I found with two different no-hitter alums: Stephen Pryor (2012) and Adam Liberatore (shared with Cingrani).
Only three colleges have one alum who have pitched two no-hitters: ODU (Verlander); Washington (Lincecum) and TCU (Arrieta).
Texas A&M had two LOI-signees who instead chose MLB and pitched consecutive no-hitters in 2014: Josh Beckett & Clayton Kershaw.
WTG, Rice!!!

This exchange from a Kershaw interview struck me as funny.
"So, I understand you had a football scholarship offer from Texas A&M?"
"No, I had a baseball scholarship offer. I played football in high school, but I didn't have a football scholarship offer."
"So, you played football. Were you a strong-armed quarterback?"
"No, I was a center?"
"You were a center?"
"Yes, Matthew Stafford was our quarterback."

And Stafford was Kershaw's catcher. :-)
