In 2010, Tech faced Boise State on a Monday night and then followed up with JMU 5 days later. Mickey Matthews called the concept of beating VT "comical", but it happened. Of course, JMU then went on to lose multiple games later that season(and miss the playoffs) but win a game against someone without completing a pass. JMU did take significant strides forward in the following seasons to the level that they now occupy.
For 2010, that was the last really great season for the Tribe, a conference championship, the battle with UNC(which I still think we should have won), Grimes halfback pass against Delaware, Callahan and Paulus, a great defense again, a destruction of Richmond and a #2 seed for the playoffs.
I do think 2018 will bring a good defense to the Tribe, maybe we might be surprised overall. Can still hope here in June for a magical, fun fall season for the team.

Easy there Duke fan. As much as I’d like to see a massive upset here. We have to find a healthy online with depth and a QB.

There is no way WM wins this game thinking they have a chance. The only way we have a chance is to win is understanding the obstacle in front of them and working there butt off to shorten the gap of talent.

There’s nothing wrong with a little respect for your opponent, especially a preseason top 10 FBS team. Can we win? sure. Believing we can win is cool. Belief without a reality check is just a Dream.
