RE: My internet speed problems (slow sports season, so leave it here, please)
More than half of those descriptions you are questioning are irrelevant. If you would read my post carefully, you would already know that. They are irrelevant because I already said that I am getting twice the speed that I was getting from AT&T. We have the same number of devices that we had a week ago. My home is laid out exactly the same as it was a week ago. The wireless router is in exactly the same place it was a week ago. Now, yes, it appears that the 2.4 gigahertz versus the 5 gigahertz was the issue. The Ping and latency maybe an issue as well. But I took those suggestions and investigated, and possibly solved my problem. Most of the issues you brought up were boilerplate platitudes that I would expect from a minimum wage customer service rep on the phone.

Minimum wage customer service reps roll their eyes and curse their luck at having to deal with clueless know it alls like you. I'm glad that your crack "investigation" solved the problem.

Would you mind going into more depth on your solution?
Did you have to split the channels? Put some devices on 5 and some on 2.4?

No, I just set the router to all 5ghz all the time. That seemed to help some, but Facebook images still don't load as quickly as they used to on the AT&T Uverse. I mean, once they start, they pop in. But the problem is getting the images to even start. We get this grey square where the image "will be", and a circle spinning around and around for a while. Of course, that could be just a masking program with Facebook - I don't know. It could be waiting until the whole image loads before displaying it.
Also, my son (who is a programmer/website designer) told me tonight that Comcast prioritizes traffic to internet speed test dot com to make it appear as tho you are getting top speed. Very sneaky....
So I got home tonight and ran a speed test a couple of times on an alternative site. I got 16.4 Mbps and 19.6 Mbps. Not quite as good as the other site. This particular site runs several tests in a single test result to give you highs and lows. My lows were in the 12 Mpbs range, and my highs were in the 28 Mbps range. That is a WILD range. Very erratic.
Imma callum' tommry.
