Lol. But golf trash talking is a real thing. Such a precise and individual game. When someone gets in your head, it's over. Phil and Tiger are masters of this on tour. Locally, every club has them.

Other direct competition sports where effort matters I get what you are saying.

Not sure what people expected him so say. We are bringing back a bunch of players and adding new players in an open AAC.

Harder is to be able to focus when needed in golf. Not easy for sure but it’s done regularly by decent golfers . The hardest aspects of golf ( for me )are focus and relaxation . Someone running their mouths are depending on being able to talk you out of your game. When they can’t they lose their focus then usually their match .

We will know if this team is more talented based on how they play in the buy games. If those games are close like they were this year, we will need to temper expectations. If we are blowing those teams out, then the team will have a higher ceiling. Also, Penny will have to form an identity in last game situations offensively and defensively. That is a difference between winning and losing. The players will have to make an adjustment. Our best hope is that the team shows signs of getting better as the year goes along.

We did win a lot of close games last year. It’s always good to be able to tough one out. And while I feel like it builds character, let’s hope we’re not still pulling out last second wins over Cupcake U.

I agree about last year, but I also thought that if we had a half decent true point guard we would have blown a lot of teams out. Not a knock on Martin, but he just isn't a point guard and he bogged down the offense.

Now we have two point guards. Lomax should be very good at distributing the ball and getting into the lane. If he can keep defenses honest from outside, we will be good. Harris should be able to shoot. If he can do a decent job of distributing the ball and getting into the lane we should be good.

Tubby was always one top 100 player away, another big in 2016 and a point guard last year. Neither had to be world beaters, which is why his two years here were so frustrating. Tubby could have done well here if him and his staff were a bit less lazy and a bit less incompetent.
