The dismantling of Obama’s legacy proves our government still works
https://nypost.com/2018/05/11/the-disman...ill-works/

Quote:It’s strange that a president who had such a transformative effect on our national discourse will leave such a negligible policy legacy. But Barack Obama, whose imperial term changed the way Americans interact and in some ways paved the way for the Trump presidency, is now watching his much-celebrated and mythologized two-term legacy be systematically demolished.

Quote:When Congress, then teeming with politicians elected on the promise of overturning ObamaCare, refused, then-Treasury Secretary Jack Lew ordered the administration to begin making “cost-sharing reduction” payments anyway, without any public legal justification. Obama created a $7 billion-per-year appropriation for insurance companies. Not a single liberal pundit that I know of concerned himself with this norm-breaking.

One federal court found the ObamaCare subsidy unconstitutional, and the case was working its way toward the Supreme Court. But then again, no administration in memory was stopped more often by courts, often by unanimous Supreme Court decisions. Whether it was ignoring the Senate in making appointments or claiming to rewrite employment law, Obama tried to function without constitutional restraints.

None of this even breaches the unprecedented regulatory regime Obama built to circumvent the legislative branch. Even The New York Times characterized his governing as “bureaucratic bulldozing, rather than legislative transparency.”

Barry tried to create a legacy by using a pen. It is now being wiped clean by pen. Obama thought he was King of the USA. Sorry Barry, you were just a sorry President who will have no legacy. Well, there were those shovel ready jobs snd that $2500 per year family savings on Barrycare.

At least if you liked you plan, you could keep your plan. So there's that.

However the media loved him so he'll be remembered fondly.

He'll always have some supporters but not enough to counter his horrible presidency. The MSM's influence is not the same as it once was due to our current POTUS. That's one legacy of Trump's - the media will never be looked at the same again. With the stroke of a tweet and an iron sack to attack them head on exposed them for what they truly are...fake, lying, sensationalistic, subjective agenda driven, fear mongers.

If O left any legacy it's that a POTUS can not govern by executive order.

Nope - and he was so full of himself he wasn't willing to work with Congress enough to get them to do much of anything to help him get what he wanted with the exception of that crap law that was Obamacare.

I realized very early in his presidency that he just was not a leader. He wasn't a leader prior to winning the office and his penchant for trying to lead from behind all meant he was bumbling down the path of an inept presidency.

Given his views, we are lucky he was as impotent a leader as he was........gives us a chance to go back to a winning strategy without having to undo too much of his stuff. Besides - Trump can undo it with the stroke of a pen - same way Barry governed.......04-cheers
