I think we tend to let a tiny % of people change the way we view the whole.....

There's always going to be those people that try to abuse the system and we are jaded by them. Being connected the way we are today, makes it a lot easier to see it.

I'm going to give a example of a seen disability that might need a HCP spot and a unseen one. The man with one leg missing and walking on a artificial leg is easy to see. Then you have the man with diabetic nerve pain that gets out of their car without a limp.

I Know people with both problems I know for a fact the man with the unseen diabetic nerve pain needs that spot more so than the man with one leg. With the artificial leg the man will only be limited in how far they can walk by other problems, other than a missing leg. The person with diabetic nerve pain is limited from the go before they have to sit down and wait for the pain to go away. That might be 50, 100, 200 yards but it is limited on almost every trip outside of the home that involves walking.

I also know people that fake it but without knowing the person personally who am I to judge what they are going through. I 100% believe there's a member on this board that been trained since birth that a inconvenience is a disability. But as I said I also know people that have unseen disability. So I refuse to let a tiny % of people affect my judgment on a program that helps many.


I'm the same way with laws that are a reaction to something awful but can and will grow into having a different meaning once it's in affect. We are a nation of laws but that doesn't mean we need a new one to protect us from everything.
