The libs are happy as hell this has happened. This is just posturing and there was never going to be a fast track with Rocket Boy. The libs would love for him to get his nukes going again and be a threat to the world simply because it would make Trump look bad. Millions of dead bodies by a NK nuke is not too high a price to pay for the resistance and Trump haters.

I can't say that I've seen either side "go high" in a long time.

Virtually everyone on here was saying wait and see with the North Koreans. Until after the summit we won't know if they were serious. Only the liberals are not saying wait and see now. Until the summit doesn't happen we won't know if they are serious now.

No one's happy; just living in reality. Like you said, Trump is not getting anything done with NK on a fast track.

NK doesn't need to get their nukes "going again;" they already have them. The "dismantled" testing site was already destroyed prior to any discussions of talks, so that was never a 'win' for diplomacy, either.

The people living in reality knew this all along on both sides of the aisle. The only ones who were giddy about "so much winning" are the ones blinded by their love for Trump.

I can't see there ever being a real chance for peace, much less reunion, as long as a Kim family member is in charge. I'm sure Un has done enough already to warrant a visit to the courts in The Hague. The Kim family can't release control or they are all dead men (and women) walking and they know it. Since a good number of the folks propping them up also would qualify for a tribunal in The Netherlands, don't expect much to change.

I'd honestly pick Option #1)

The Peace Prize is pretty meaningless anyway at this point. I do agree that Obama did not deserve it... I was not a huge fan of the drone program.

Then they gave it to Aung San Suu Kyi and they've been massacring the Rohingya in Myanmar.

There are probably people on the left that would choose #2. Just like there were people on the right who would rather see Obama fail at the expense of the greater good. What was that Mitch McConnell quote again?

Re: the bolded, any logical person, yes, but there aren't a whole lot of those on this particular board. The people on here who were saying "SO MUCH WINNING" and ready to hand Trump the peace prize then when the reports first came out that they were going to meet are not the logical ones I'm referring to.

I think the reality of the situation is that KJU won't surrender his nukes, period, but if option 1 happened and Trump won the PP, I would be glad the nukes were surrendered, and certainly wouldn't lose any sleep over the PP - there may be others more deserving, but I'm not on the committee.

As for impeachment, while I'm not holding my breath for that either, winning a PP wouldn't make it harder if something were found to show illegal activity on his part, IMO.
