Big news out of Liberty. They will presumably make a major conference affiliation announcement on Thursday, perhaps as soon as next school year.

It looks like they will be joining the A-Sun in all sports except football.

Because nobody REALLY wants Liberty, because Liberty has either way too much Jesus, or very much the wrong kind of Jesus. The A-Sun is willing to overlook that because they're at the bottom of the food chain, so they'll take most anyone.

If it's non-HBCU my guess is Kennesaw St.

The A Sun will get enough fb members from FCS and transition to FBS to qualify for the CFP payout by 2025. Been saying this for quite some time but stubborn posters vehemently disagree.

JMU, Delaware, Stony Brook, Albany, Jacksonville St and maybe UMass as fb only. The A Sun already has Kennesaw St and soon Liberty. North Florida and FGCU don’t need to dilly-dally around in FCS instead going a nearly direct path to FBS. The A Sun will be a mirror image of the ACC but junior, like the Belt is for the ACC.

There will be a trade with the OVC where it takes Lipscomb and the A Sun takes Jacksonville St.

The CAA won’t get any team, but America East will get NJIT for Albany and Stony Brook.

There should be other more attractive conference realignment chances by 2025.

When a new contract is issued, it must include all the FBS conferences or there will be suits.

I was looking at more D2 schools from Alabama Georgia and Florida to move to D1.

Posted about Liberty and it’s FBS goals before but that thread was moved to the Verbal Assault board because the moderators viewed it as so preposterous.

So in your scenario Liberty, Kennesaw St, and Jacksonville St are all full members and FBS along with start ups from the two state school in FL.

CAA football is going to provide approx 4 FB affiliates.

Where does UNA fit into this?
