Man, I just looked it up, and according to 24/7, Pastner has only signed 1 4* (Micheal Devoe) since he has been at GA Tech. That is kinda surprising seeing that recruiting was his strong suit.

His recruiting has fallen off. He can't grind anymore like he did.

Those are average classes. You can't win with that in the ACC.

I am sure he is grinding...

But now he has a history...

It is easier to sell nothing than it is to sell all the baggage he is carrying.

If I am not mistaken he also lost 2 assistants. He just hired one.

I have no inside info but it sounds like Sam Mitchell is the guy and we're just waiting until he's done working with the 2019 and 2020 kids to 'officially' hire him...the up side being since we haven't hired him yet, NCAA rules don't apply to him yet.

GP had Penny on for a long Q&A and didn't ask about the 3rd assistant? I caught it late so apologies if that's inaccurate. But if so...it's obvious that everyone in town is rowing the boat in the same direction. Which I'm cool with.

He is also involved with grassroots basketball as part of the Adidas Gauntlet series.

He is an AAU coach with at least one elite player (Jalen Green - #1 2020 class) on the roster.

He said in the interview that he loved spending hours in the gym evaluating guys and that he really looked forward to recruiting. He also said that at times when he walked in the gym, people were like "there's Sam Mitchell". Now he knows when he walks in with Penny they won't even look at Sam Mitchell, lol.
