It's clearly Yanny for me even though my wife hears Laurel. My kids agree with me so clearly I'm right.

When I listened to it last night, I swear it was Laurel...

But this morning it's Yanny... Weird

Local radio was talking about it today. Evidently if it is played at the original pitch, nearly everybody will hear Laurel. Only when the pitch is changed do people hear other words.

I don't know about that. I listened to it with 3 other people in the same room, and we were split 2-2.

I heard Laurel.

I heard Laurel last night. First time I played it today I heard a high pitched Yanny then it went to Laurel. Played with the volume and I still hear Laurel. I heard both this morning. Weird.

So which news story did this sound dilemma wipe from the national headlines?

To me, it started as Yaurel... then it morphed into full Laurel.

I heard Laurel.

I took it to my wife, didn't tell her a thing about it and asked what she heard. She heard Yanny.

While she was hearing Yanny I was hearing Laurel.

Last night it was Laurel and a very clear Laurel. This morning it is not laurel or yanny. It is yarry.

Sounds to me more like "yelly."
