Is there anyone left in the CA sports department besides Mark Giannotto, Ron Tillery, and Evan Barnes?

To compare the C-A to the Titanic would be a disservice to the Titanic. The paper has been in a fast decline over the last five years (outside of an occasional good writer - I'm thinking Tom Schad, who couldn't get away from the paper quick enough).

Giannotto is the only one worth reading. Tillery is nothing but a hack.

Tom still works for USA Today. He got a promotion.

It's not a local paper anymore.

The Memphis CA and associated social media accounts are a great source of UT Vols news.

It has become a terrible paper. Most all papers will end up the same way. Should have jumped on the internet way back when they had a chance.

The CA has been a vital source of bird cage liner for many decades. Parrots, parakeets, and cockatoos are skert they will have to change to an out of town newspaper like USA Today or the WSJ. Many already have.

IMO, Evan is a good writer. He just does not seem to care much for the Memphis scene and he sparingly publishes info on Tiger football compared to Mark on Tiger basketball.

Are we sure Tillary is still there? He isn't writing the draft articles, Giannotto is.

That's a really good point. Hell, he may be gone too. The guy made it such a point to alienate himself to readers over the years, no one would really notice if he was gone from the CA or not.

Tillery is still there, but he took vacation the week of the NBA draft. Unbelievable.

Wow. I am surprised it was allowed. I hope it is not something serious prompting his absence.

03-lmfao Yep, that's about what it's good for, catching bird sh*t. It's definitely not good for much else.

I would guess it is how long he has been with the paper and poor management..

Tillery is the only beat writer the Grizz has ever had... People love the Grizz, hence people must love Tillery. Meanwhile their paper is going down the toilet.
