While we're at it ... the ACC should move the lesser championships around to cities not big enough to merit the big revenue championships. Places that make sense IMO:

- SC: Greenville, Charleston, Myrtle Beach
- NC: Asheville, Wilmington
- VA: Richmond, Norfolk
- NY: Albany, Buffalo
- FL: Orlando

Can't. It might provide an unnatural homefield advantage for Clemson. Best to keep everything in NC.

You think there was a basketball tournament this whole conversation revolved around? Logistically, the center of the conference footprint is the best place. Obviously, more than just the NC schools are voting for Greensboro to be included. BTW, Greensboro was never the lone site for the tournament, it has always moved around.

The baseball tournament did very well in Greenville (SC).
No so well in Salem (Va).

* From 1954 to 1967 the ACC tournament was always held in Raleigh, NC. Of course, that's the home of the NC State Wolfpack, so it's unlikely to ever return to that venue (except for possibly a special anniversary).

I'm hoping that my hometown of Richmond, VA can get its act together and finally build a new baseball stadium. I'm biased, but I think ACC fans would find Richmond to be a very enjoyable destination for something like the ACC baseball tournament. The food & beer scene has really exploded in the last decade and become well-regarded among people in those circles.

There's been talk of the city, minor league team, and VCU partnering to construct a new stadium, so hopefully that takes shape in the next couple years.
