Biloxi Road Trip-- Who's In?
Team hotel is the Hampton Inn Gulfport/Hilton-- 11 minutes from the airport; 20 minutes to the stadium in Biloxi.

Wednesday game vs. LaTech starts at 12:30pm, or 45 minutes after the first game.

Individual game tickets still not available on the conference website, but if prior years are any indication, they should go up for sale on Monday. The 15-game pass is an pricey $165.

I hope the team wins enough so that I can make it over if there is an evening or weekend game. Not enough leave time to drive over during the day. Went to 2 games last year and they were a ton of fun.

LaTech has 5 LHP on their staff, including their two best starters, and two of their Top 4 relievers. Staff ERA of 3.32 leads the conference. They've won 7 of their last 8 games, including taking 2 of 3 on the road vs. USM. They beat us by a combined 21 - 9 in sweeping us earlier this year at Reckling. Of course, at that time, we were without DiCaprio and Dunlap, Cruz was still struggling a bit, and Collins was still very much hit or miss (mostly miss) at the plate. Cruz has become our best hitter against LHPs, and Collins's approach at the plate has improved significantly. Offensively, they've very patient hitters, who crowd the plate (they lead CUSA in HBPs) and have good pop (48 HRs)...but their true strength is their aggressive baserunning, as they lead the conference with 72 stolen bases, with one guy an unbelievable 25-25 in SB attempts.

A little more ticket info now posted but still not sure if they are doing sessions or truly game by game. As it appears to me tickets are $15 per game but I could be interpreting it wrong. They are general admission as I had heard and not reserved seating

Pretty sure we played them in Ruston.

I'll be at the first two games.
It's general admission and if last year is any indication ticket availability is no problem. Just buy at the box office.

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer but weather.com has Biloxi with a 50 to 80 percent chance of rain the next 10-15 days. That's every day. I say we push for a rule that if the conference tournament can't be completed due to rainouts, the conference's automatic selection should be determined by the longest active NCAA appearance streak.

I do wonder if they will be forced to change the format of the tournament some due to weather.

Yes, but if you look at accuweather, each day also calls for sunshine with scattered showers. So long as the drainage is good, games should get in.

The only time a CUSA tournament champion wasn’t determined on the field was 2005 in Hattiesburg when the championship game between Tulane and TCU was rained out.

Also the 2009 tournament in Hattiesburg saw the two elimination Friday afternoon/evening games moved to Friday morning with the Saturday morning games moved to Friday afternoon/evening. Luckily Rice and USM won their respective brackets undefeated so the if necessary games weren’t needed which worked out perfectly as it flooded all day Saturday. The Sunday championship game was moved up to 10:00 am to avoid the rain that afternoon.

I do believe last year the Sun Belt went to a single elimination format in the later rounds due to inclement weather. From memory I think the Saturday “if necessary” games were dropped and what was the two Saturday morning games turned into a winner advances to championship game as those games weren’t started until Saturday evening or something to that effect.
