Allow Memphis students 30 minute advanced access to any seat they want to MM. After 30 minutes allow the blue hairs to fill in the rest

Probably shouldn't alienate the people who pay the bills

Very few blue hairs at MM anymore.

According to Eli Savoir tweet:
“Penny Hardaway talking with us mentions Oregon and Arkansas as possible opponents in near future. Also, neutral site game in Nashville vs Kentucky as possibility”

According to Sports56WHBQ tweet:
“Penny Hardaway on @Sports56WHBQ when asked about his 3rd assistant spot: "We're getting closer to bringing a third assistant in. ... It should be done before the first summer session."”

Nashville is a nice roadtrip for KY fans and they show up en masse when the SEC Tourney is played in Nashville. It is also a close trip for Tiger fans from Memphis and there are many Tiger fans living in Nashville. We had a good showing the last time I recall Memphis playing in Nashville (against MTSU??).

No sense in giving students a 30 minute head start they won't come anyways

After a few years of no MM, there were quite a few aged fans at this past year's. There will be plenty there this fall. No need to give the students a 30-minute headstart for this event.

Indulge a good-ole-days story...When I was in school, we had to go by the ticket office at least a day in advance to get student tickets. And we were allowed 1 guest ticket for $5. We stood in line at the ticket office, then stood in line to get into the MSC. And had full student sections. Granted the commute to the MSC was much easier then downtown. But the process was much more difficult.

I believe today they don't have to get an advance ticket. Just show-up at FEF with a student ID and they get in free. They also have (I think) 2 guests who can get in free with them. Much easier. They also have free buses to get them down and back - contrary to what some writers in town think. Personally, I think that is all good and should continue - along with maybe some other incentive ideas.

In order to improve the look and feel, I would suggest that whatever capacity remains in the student section at 15 minutes before tip-off be sold as walk-up tickets for $10 - or a price comparable to an upper level ticket.

KY fans show up en masse no matter where they play. Tiger fans better get their tickets early.

Agree, but Nashville has additional appeal because it is close by and a tourist destination and will tend to bump up attendance more than locations outside a day’s drive with little of interest to visitors.

Was on J&J today....basically confirmed the 3rd assistant will be Sam Mitchell. Said he was waiting for him to fulfill some other obligations before his last interview...

Was a joke. If you go to their board they don't care anything about us and penny will fail blah blah. But I bet the game will be important. Would love to see us beat them.

I attended 1990-93 and when games were in the Pyramid. Student section was behind the visitor's bench and those were some good times! I remember having to get there early because it would fill up fast. It was so much fun to tick Nolan Richardson and Bob Huggins off. I remember Huggins turning around at one point and cussing us out. Oh those were good times!

I thought students would not go downtown for basketball games.

Student perks at the Forum would also be nice -- but IMO getting students to games has to start on campus. John Martin tweeted that even during the D Rose year the student section was only 50% full.

Make the student section smaller. Those seats in club would sell well

I believe work, family, and study duties nearly preclude many University of Memphis students from attending many games. For example, "the "traditional" college student is thought to be between the ages of 18-22. At University of Memphis, 38.4% of students are in the age 18 to 22 bracket, compared to the national average of 60%" (Source). Only "15 percent of the students live in college-owned, -operated or -affiliated housing and 85 percent of students live off campus"(Source).

We should probably start acting like Duke and giving students good seats when possible. MM is for the students first...then alumni second
