We have treachery in College Baseball. Vile Evil treachery!

Kentucky...was left out of the NCAA Tournament despite an amazing 13-17 Conference record, and Northeastern...NORTHEASTERN was placed in the tournament instead.

ESPN is furious. They can't believe what is happening! I expect the immediate removal of the selection committee for that treachery! The basketball committee will have to select all 14 SEC teams next year as recompense.

That's what happens when you finish 9th in your conference and there is a PAC 12 team in UCLA (Which can't go to Corvallis obviously) in a similar seeding spot. UCLA Had to travel across country, so someone else, a lower 2 seed has to travel the other way.

LSU fans are amusing. Still think they are God's gift to College Baseball.

RE: 16 NCAA Baseball host sites announced
Really bummed with our regional. I always love the regionals because it gives me a chance to see teams I don't usually get to see, but this year is about as typical as it gets in that regards.

Oklahoma is somewhat interesting, but I already saw them at the CWS a couple years back. Miss State is a common postseason matchup. Samford seems like they're in our regional every year. Then if we win, we matchup most likely with Clemson (whom we've already played four times this year).

Disappointed in that regard, but otherwise not much to say. The committee definitely put a huge emphasis on conference record this year, which is fine. They were very consistent in that across the board.

LSU hosted a regional for something like 25 years in a row. They need to get over themselves.

Tough draws on ECU's side of the bracket (Arkansas has the best home field advantage in baseball this year). Nonetheless, it's time for my Pirates to finally get over the hump and make it to Omaha.

Hell, it seems the committee doesn't even have the facts straight for why the picked certain teams to host/not host.

The Piggies wined so we didn't get to their regional.

I think everyone has their little gripes. For us (FSU), it's why are we the #7 seed behind UNC when we have a better RPI (5 vs 8), SOS (4 vs 5), won the ACC tournament, and beat them 2/3 in Chapel Hill.

In any case, it is what it is. I agree with a lot of the issues from other posters. Compared to other years I think this committee didn't do quite as good a job.

Well, LSU has led the NCAA in attendance the last *20 years* or something, so they are justified in thinking that.

But to this issue - I just read the BR paper, the Advocate, today and nobody at LSU seems to be whining about being shipped to Corvalis. Just a week ago, they were a bubble team and they understood that the SEC tournament run couldn't have moved them higher than a 2-seed (at a regional), so that means getting shipped out.

In short, jealous fans of other schools are trying to afix a prima donna label to LSU fans that just doesn't apply here. 07-coffee3

You have a good argument.

Historically, the committee hasn't put as much stock in conference tournaments. I think they should, but to me they have always been treated like the conference tourneys tend to be treated in hoops - a chance for a team to play itself off the bubble (one way or the other**) but not really improve on its seeding that the regular season established.

In this case, UNC won their ACC division with a 22-8 record. FSU finished fourth in your division with a 16-13 record. So that explains UNC having a higher overall seed.

** E.g., at the AAC tournament, UCF, a bubble team, went 0-2 and likely played itself off the bubble and out; at the SEC tournament, LSU was a bubble team, but by making the tournament final, played itself comfortably off the bubble and in to the tournament.

It's a vocal minority
