Willie Fritz is not an adherent to the flexbone/wishbone scheme. His offense is a run-centric RPO. There is an enormous difference between a Paul Johnson, Todd Monken & Coach Ken scheme to what Willie Fritz runs. If Georgia Tech decides to continue running the bone scheme after Paul Johnson, Willie Fritz will not be on that list of potential candidates.

This. Likely they grab Kennensaw's coach, if PJ ever retires. I am guessing they make him into an AI and he coaches forever from the cloud,

Tulane football had a solid year and they won that game, which would have gotten them to six and six season and a bowl but the officials blew the call an covered their asses

Since when does Todd Monken run the flexbone? He's a Ok State spread guy, and as far as I can tell he has never been in that offense nor does he have any ties to Tech.
My bad I meant Jeff Monken

Jeff Monken, though, is of the Paul Johnson coaching tree.

I want to ask if the feeling around the GT fan base is that they WILL stick with the Johnson school? I have stopped being surprised when I hear GT fans (or others) say that PJ hasn't had success at GT -- he has -- or that GT should somehow expect MORE success.

GT faithful have high expectations... They expect a Coastal division crown every year and expect to be in the ACC Championship every year... Paul Johnson has brought two Orange Bowls, multiple ACC Championship games..most folks like Coach Paul Johnson just wish he would throw a little bit more... maybe 4 to 5 passes a quarter...

When he retires Tech will either go with a Coach Johnson disciple (Ken.N, J. Monken, B. Bohanan) Or a Coach with option experience like Fritz or Calhoun, Tech will not Scrap the scheme entirely a they know that would take 4 to 5 years to overcome.... That is why Coach Fritz is attractive just look at what he did at Georgia Southern following a Flexbone scheme.

While I respect your argument, it shows you are not in the "know" concerning Georgia Tech Athletics. Also I am not sure if you watched Football a few years back when Coach Fritz replaced flexbone/wishbone coach with his run-centric RPO. He replaced Jeff Monken At Georgia Southern and did very well!

Concerning Tulane 2018... I would be surprised if they do not improve on 2017 were they lost three close games ( Navy, Cincy, SMU) lasy year, I think they win those this year...
I think in 2018 if they can shore up the leaky defense they can get to a bowl game... which is a good expectation since it would be there 4th bowl game in thirty years.. I hope they upset Wake Forest in week 1!!

When Paul Johnson retires, Fritz, who is a 3 years younger, will be right behind him.

How many teams don't run a version of the rpo in the acc? When you have legitimate cover zero corners, nickle & dime backs and linebackers that can man-up on anything coming from the backfield/slot/wing effectively running the rpo in the acc is much more problematic than the sunbelt where you may have one legit man-to-man db.
At the highest levels of ncaa play the rpo has been effectively dialed into defensively, that is why the flexbone has been so effective of late. It throws a wrench into everything these players have been taught since high school. IMO, if Willie Fritz implemented the rpo at tech he'd be following the herd.
