I agree; you could have sat anywhere you wanted last two years in BB. FB seating does not require the same donation.

I feel like most folks who have this complaint probably had parents or relatives who were longtime donors and they just road coattails.

Well, if you consider someone who went there and had B.B. season tickets for 35 years, their parents would be close to 85-90 years old. I doubt we have many donors kicking in that kind of total investment in tickets and money at that age. It’s my understanding the average age is around 65 when donors start dropping out for whatever reason.

The idea is that the kids end up taking the parents' place and the kids become the donors when they are older and making a living.

That wouldn't help them if a new donor came in, was willing to donate at the next level for one year and bumped him.

With very few exceptions, if you continue to donate at the same level each year, you can get the same seats you had. Eventually things change (it's part of life) and they will do a reseating or something. The end result is that the University gets more money, but also some people that were holding onto seats that have since risen out of their price range lose their seats.

Of course, dropping your donation level will get seats lost too. It's the Athletic Department's prerogative what weight to give historical donations, but it sounds like it isn't good enough for you.

Exactly. As I wrote before....very few (if any) long time donors get bumped if they continue donating at the same level. And even if they do it is certainly not a major move. Maybe a row or two?

I’m assuming the $2100 package doesn’t include the required $2,500 donation or has the AD backed off of that?

$2100 for a tent on the lawn with all the stuff (mostly) is a bargain. 04-cheers

Our Tiger Lane spot was dead center of fountain if you drew a parallel line to stadium and required a $2500 donation. I assume it depends on where you had been purchasing your spot as to the cost but I didn’t handle it this year.

RE: Blockparty @ Tiger Lane
It's a big if, but IF all 200 people on the waiting list for Tiger Lane signed up for this service on the lawn, you can kiss a lot of the things we love about TL goodbye - the open greenspace for kids to play, area to gather for Tiger walk, etc.

If that's the case, I sincerely hope the UofM is getting a cut of the $ from Blockparty.
