Houston gets 1:1 with Utah
Houston signed some more games. Home vs Utah in 2026, @ Utah in 2027 vs UTSA (makeup from last year) and extended with Rice. No FCS teams for the Coogs a few years and hopefully the Georgia Southern series gets cancelled.

Recent/future home & homes with:

Louisville
Vandy
Arizona
Texas Tech
Kansas
Utah
Washington State

Plus BYU, Boise and even OU if you count the Kickoff Classic as a home game.

RE: Houston gets 1:1 with Utah
This obviously was the home and home with a Pac-12 team Aresco spilled the beans on a while back. This is our scheduling strategy. Two OOC games a year with P5's. We try to get the best P5's we can with the stipulation it has to be a home and home (or at least something that resembles a home and home---like the Oklahoma series). The other two OOC games will typically be regional G5's--with one being Rice most years. In fact---today, we added 2 additional games vs Rice to be played in 2022 and 2023.

Thats about as good as one can hope if you can only work with those willing to schedule a home and home (or something that very closely resembles a home and home).

Utah is good, on a similar level to Louisville...but after OU I don't see a single true blue blood on our schedule.. we pretty much for the next 10 years are going to be dependent on teams like arizona having unusually good seasons and us beating them, but even then it won't have the same effect as beating a Texas or LSU would... we need to be getting SEC/B12 teams on our schedule and I don't mean vandy or kansas.

I wish Memphis would take this scheduling philosophy. Our AD has taken a different route: one P5, two G4s in recruiting states, and one FCS to claim 7 home games at least every other year. I'd rather have 6 home games with 2 P5s, but I don't write the big checks.

NIU that averaged 11,291/game last season has a 1-1 with Utah for 2018 and 2019.

Maybe. There's another potential Pac 12 home and home that's been in the works for awhile.

UTSA and Rice seem to be locals of choice. Played North Texas and Texas State recently too. I would not mind playing ULaLa again. That's five good local options.

Yep, it seems about comparable with what UCF has gotten recently and in the near future. I think we're both doing great with scheduling. The one thing UCF needs to work on is these 1 and dones with B1G schools. Hopefully that is a thing of the past with Danny White in charge. 04-cheers

Two P6 each year should be the goal for the good AAC teams. Houston has a pretty good future P6 home and home schedule. A few of those teams are bottom dwellers, but the rest are solid...and you can only play teams that are willing to schedule you.

Looking over future PAC 12 schedules I see very few open dates and the ones that are available look to be filled by FCS teams. Not sure who it could be or when it could be....

Congrats UH. Utah has been good and should stay the same in the future in the PAC.

Houston doesn't have an opening until 2024-25. Did you look that far out?

I looked out as far as 2030. At first I thought it could be UCLA, but their openings are before Houston’s. I mean if Aresco is spilling the beans saying that there is a big PAC 1:1 series coming up it has to be either with UCLA, USC, Washington, Oregon or Stanford. MWC teams can get H&H’s with the PAC schools, so if there’s talk about it it must be a big time school. I’m very intrigued to find out who it is.
