I think its Mcgill thats the team thats very well coached. They went like 3 years without losing a game. They took SU to overtime a few years back, during their 3 year undefeated span. SU was pretty good that season going 25-0 before losing a game. If this is the team that Im thinking, They, surprisingly can play some ball

You're thinking of Carleton.

You are correct. Thanks for confirming that. I guess you know those canadian schools better than I do, even though some refer to Upstate NY as Southern Canada.

I wish Duke did have Carleton on the schedule. They've won 13 of the last 16 Canadian college basketball championships.
Here are some reasons why I think it's not happening:
1) Duke is replacing all of its starters. Four of the replacements are likely to be frosh. Carleton has a veteran team.
2) Duke only gets 10 practices before playing games. Carleton can practice year round.
3) It's a road trip.
4) Almost no one knows who Carleton is, even in Canada.
5) Last, but not least, the games will be played under FIBA rules, which most of the Duke players are unfamiliar with.

RE: Duke Heading To Canada This August
Well Syracuse played Carleton and beat them with them possessing a veteran team...in Ottawa. Duke appears to be avoiding them. Wish Coack K would check his ego at the border and try to challenge themselves...the rest of the games are pretty much blowout victories.
This is actually a fun summer trip for Duke fans. We had fans following them in person.

Those games are considered exhibition games, correct? So they don't count anyway, win or lose, correct?

Yes...however, Duke would take a big risk if they lose a game. It would hurt their image.

I thought NCAA teams were allowed only 1 exhibition game a year. Apparently not.

I still think JB intentionally lost that game to answer his critics who questions why his teams dont play man to man. The first thing he says, is "See what happens when we play man to man?"

Foreign summer exhibition...can play up to 3 or 4 games I believe. You can only participate once every 4 years.
Also, all schools can have 2 exhibitions every Fall.

Actually, a school could play up to 10 exhibition basketball games under NCAA rules but I can't imagine a school playing more than four. A school could even play four foreign exhibition games in football! The problem is that if you do that you can't play in a bowl game that season. Also, there's probably no one a D-1 school could realistically play. We've seen recently that they play college football in Japan but I can't imagine them playing a D-1 team. I imagine it's pretty much the same for Canadian college football plus they play weird rules.

I would love to go but it doesn't sound like it's going to happen.
However, even if I could I don't know if I would. This Carleton team sounds like they're the 2nd coming of the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers.

Carleton strength wise is a very solid team yearly...probably around a 4-10 seed. Very Good Power Programs should beat them in March...however, you meet them in the summer (not always with a full team) and off only 10 or so practices so most US teams lose. They have no restrictions on practices.
A victory over them is a very good win...probably portending a ranked team in the Fall. They have blown out Wisconsin, Memphis and Wichita St in the past few years.
