I believe the Sunbelt will be their centerpiece.

This season already? That sucks for them.

Hey now...most of us wanted this. A lot easier to put all of the non televised games on ESPN+ rather than trying to put them on Bein Sports or some other obscure network and spending hours trying to find it on the cable lineup.

Just wait till ESPN approaches Arresco about moving your non TV games over...its coming.

Well, ESPN3 is likley being phased out--so its just a matter of time before all ESPN3 content moves to ESPN+.

Im starting to think that the AAC deal may be written is such a way that they cant just move AAC content from ESPN3 to ESPN+. I also suspect the MAC deal was purposely written in a way that does allow it. In contrast, it seems they had to do a full renegotiation to get the Sunbelt content moved over to ESPN+. Ditto with CUSA.

Its worth noting---if they wanted some AAC content on ESPN+ in year one---they likely would have had to do an early renewal with the AAC prior to this point. We know from Craig Thompson that ESPN offered the MW an early renewal at the current rate and were rejected.

Very interesting. So you are saying that if ESPN could have moved AAC or MWC games from the ESPN3 to ESPN Plus they would have but could not due to how the contract is written? But the MAC deal allowed them to be transitioned over to plus even though plus didn’t exist when the MAC deal was made?
