It really wasn't expected, though.

Sandlin went almost 100 spots before he was projected on MLB.com....which has been much more accurate than I expected. Only a couple of other guys have had that much of a discrepancy between projection and actual pick to this point....and those were high school guys.

Credit to Beagle, who said an outside chance he went in the third. Almost nailed that one.

He's going to one of the best situations he could. Aside from the Indians being good, they have a history of working with smaller, unorthodox pitchers. I don't think they will try too hard to make Sandlin fit a certain mold.

Southern Miss right-handed pitcher Nick Sandlin (Evans, Ga.) collected the school’s first National Pitcher of the Year Award Wednesday morning, earning the selection by Perfect Game/Rawlings.

Sandlin, a second-round pick by the Cleveland Indians earlier this month (67th-pick overall), made the transition from the bullpen to the team’s top starting pitcher this season. The Golden Eagle was one of five starting pitchers to make the first team, while Southern Miss third baseman Luke Reynolds earned second-team honors by the media outlet.

I don't care if any of yaz ignore me either.....

Beagle was all over the map during the season....
