Look, for my entire life there have been climate alarmists, first warning of a coming ice age, then saying Miami would be underwater by 2020. Clearly, all off base. But I also don't get the anti-climate changers... there's no harm in trying to reduce the impact we have.

I mostly agree, HOWEVER, give an inch and lose a mile to those that only want to impose their ideas for change. And the climate has nothing to do with their ideas for change.

Seconded. The real issue is CONTROL. They want control over the populace.

the best example off the top of my head is how cali legislated emission regulated/controls have changed what was at one time labeled as "affordable transportation"

I just had my catalytic converter cut out......yeah......

You definitely don't live in Texas. Our cars and trucks have to be tested every year. New Mexico doesn't have any requirements, heck they're so backward it's a wonder they still don't ride mules. I forgot, at Enemas U. they still do. LOL

That's for Crimson.

even in the 'sip, you can't take it to any shop.....a little 'hush' money can get thingys done.... 03-wink

I think most people, regardless of which side of this issue they fall, understand that we have a responsibility to be good stewards of our environment.

If, as some scientists believe, life is much older than we thought, possibly billions of years old, then it stands to reason that a century or so of record keeping is a poor premise on which to base any conclusions about climate change given the extremes it's been through over the ages.

As has been pointed out, in the 70's these same scientists predicted a mini ice age before the 21st century. How has that worked out for you guys? Do you simply choose to ignore it because it doesn't fit within the narrative you've crafted? They were wrong then so it's not a stretch to entertain the thought that they may be wrong again.

Some *ahem* called this from day -20 yrs ago.

The big blue marble is constantly changing, always has been, and we know less about where we live than we do about the moon.

I’ve spent time in the ocean basin that is uhhhhh, West Texas? Alpine, Marathon, Sul Ross? And that’s “young” in relative terms.

These new age clods like albore and his hysterical daughter, or the idiot actors and actresses that play other people on tv and read other people’s work so they can fuel their private jets...

Yea, well.

Go outside. Do some actual yard work. Look around for a change instead of just telling your driver where to take you to the next Pinot and tiny sandwiches get together.

More useful idiots. Amazing

Alpine? I visted there once but all I got was one of these.

Yep!

That looks like one of the locals!

I think we had that kids cousin in our mason lodge Monday night for our monthly goat roping party.

Memphis used to have annual vehicle inspections but I think the corruption in that department was so over the top they shut it down. I believe opponents claimed there was an element of discrimination against the poor who couldn't afford the inspection fee or to drive vehicles that are safe and don't pollute as badly as their pieces of junk. Now any hooptie can safely drive our streets while pouring out pollution and generally being a safety hazard.

That's a perfect example of why the global/climate/warming/change wackjobs will never win me over.

They preach about the "climate" and insist we take drastic measures to combat it. Measures that will cost trillions when you take into consideration the effect on the economy and our way of life.

Unfortunately for them, there are MANY countries that will tell them to pound sand. Hard to stop that "change" when the USA is restricted by draconian regulations while China (for example) will do what they want.

If we can't even rely on consistent practices across the country, how can we expect third world developing countries to fall in line?

I think you just explained he rationale behind DJT pulling out of the Paris Accords.

Berkley Scholar - Climate Change Has Run It's Course

Quote:"All that remains" of the climate change political movement, writes Hayward, "is boilerplate rhetoric from the political class, frivolous nuisance lawsuits, and bureaucratic mandates on behalf of special-interest renewable-energy rent seekers." Most national governments, he explains, have been steadily "backing away from forced-marched decarbonization." The arc of climate change as a policy priority, he declares, can officially be dated from 1988 to 2018.

RE: Climate Change Consensus
If we can effect a change in the climate (which is certainly debatable) why not just cool it down?
Most people on this planet live in tightly packed urban centers. Most of these people have no idea how much ‘world’ there is. The worlds population could stand shoulder to shoulder on the island of Hawaii. Think about that for a moment. There’s not that many of us in reality.
Anyway the left is not interested in the environment anyway. Only the power and money more control of us brings them.

^^This ^^. But that doesn't mean that we shouldn't research technologies that we might need someday. Rapid Desalination would benefit all of humankind. Atmosphere scrubbing would be a great technology to research. Landscape conversion would be a great program to implement. Turning useless desert into grasslands would be a huge benefit.

Agreed. But that also doesn't mean that we shouldn't understand and fight against the agenda.

Owning the agenda would be more effective. Focused research on practical ideology and proven techniques changes the agenda from fearmongering to sustainability. Desert reclamation and Rapid Desalination both would historic feats.

I'm talking about the globalist agenda of supplanting state control with global control.

The end of nation states is the goal.

Very cool!

But I'm kinda bummed now after reading the tagline.

BRINGING NASA TECHNOLOGY DOWN TO EARTH

To me, this is a reminder of what we've done to our space program -- grounded it, basically.
