RE: 2018 ACC Baseball Tournament schedule
Today's action
Duke 6 Wake 2 (13 innings)
UVA 4 NC State 2
Clemson 7 Miami 1 Clemson wins Pool B
Tomorrow
Louisville vs Duke 11 AM (winner advances to face Pitt)
Georgia Tech vs UNC (meaningless game, both teams previously eliminated from semifinals)
FSU vs NC State (Winner advances to face Clemson)
Couple more format complaints
Why not have the meaningless UNC & GT game start at 11? Both teams were off today (GT has been off since Tuesday) so rest shouldn't be a problem. The other two games are actual meaningful games so you shouldn't have one start at 11AM.
And again....why are you not protecting your higher seeds? You could have one semifinal game where the #2 seed faces the #3 seed while the other is the #5 seed vs the #12 seed. The semifinals should be reseeded. Makes absolutely no sense doing it the way they have done it.

I agree the format overall is weak.
As for "protecting higher seeds", you can certainly make an argument for reseeding. Of course, I believe most other college baseball tournaments do not reseed. The SEC could conceivably have semis this year where #1 plays #4 while #7 plays #11. Also, other tournaments such as the ACC basketball tournament don't reseed after upsets.

HE'S STAYING! I don't know how close Louisville was able to get to the $1.8 million the boys in Starkville were offering but we do know that Tyra said that his contract will be "tweaked". This is a huge win for the Cardinals program.
